jmjmj02 Posted April 25, 2009 Report Posted April 25, 2009 I am going to be in Nashville the week of June 8-15 (CMA FEST) , and already have a room for the last 5 days near the airport (Which I actually booked last June). Im looking to stay in Opryland Mon and Tuesday nights and know I can get they Hyatt Place for around $50 using this site. My question is if I bid $65, is it possible that I would still end up at the same hotel (hyatt Place) or is it likely I would be upgraded to Gaylord Opryland? Is Opryland even still being used by PRICELINE? Id love to spend a couple of nights in the Goylord Opryland and would be willing to pay a little extra. Any help or ideas?
AaronJB Posted April 25, 2009 Report Posted April 25, 2009 Welcome to the site.Do not bid more to try to get a different hotel and do not try to bid more in an attempt for an "upgrade". If you tried bidding more to get the Gaylord Opryland, you would likely end up getting the Hyatt (or the Radisson, or another, unreported 3* in that zone) for more than you needed to pay. I would normally suggest looking on HOTWIRE to see if the Gaylord might be showing on that site, but it does not appear to be.Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchase.

jmjmj02 Posted April 27, 2009 Author Report Posted April 27, 2009 So if I understand it correctly getting the more "expensive" property is strictly luck of the draw, theefore I should just take the less pricy location and bid less. I feel confident to get the Hyatt at $50, so will bid $45 and use the $5 bonus bucks. From what I could tell Gaylord Opryland was not listed on Hotwire either. Thanks for the advice. Although I'd love to stay there, Im sure not willing to pay room rate to do so. I will report when I place my bid. Thanks again, and yes, I will use the PRICELINE links.
mtsublueraider Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 I've stayed at that specific Hyatt Place and for my money i'd rather stay there anytime over Gaylord Opryland resort. You have to pay BIG BUCKS at the resort to eat and to park. At the Hyatt place the breakfast is included and parking is free. Also, if you really want to see the resort, just walk over there and take a look around. Remember, all hotels look the same once the lights are out. :)
