Miami Posted April 23, 2009 Report Posted April 23, 2009 I've searched Hotwire and an noticed an interesting thing. I need 4 rooms so I initially searched for this and found a 4* which has fitness centre, business centre, restaraunt and internet access for $83 (no tripadvisor ranking). However, if I only search for 1 room I also find a 4.5* for $125 which I'm pretty sure is the Sofitel. Why? Does this mean that the 4.5* does not offer 4 rooms or can I do 4 individual booking and get 4 rooms that way? It's absolutely essential that all 4 rooms are at the same hotel so i don't want to take any risks.Alternatively, I can bid on Priceline for a 4* and see what I end up with.
AaronJB Posted April 23, 2009 Report Posted April 23, 2009 I can only guess if a hotel appears for searching for 1 and not 4, then they don't have 4 rooms available in their HOTWIRE inventory. I would definitely NOT recommend trying to book them individually, as I'm guessing they don't have 4 rooms available. When using PRICELINE or HOTWIRE, definitely always book all rooms at once in the same transaction - NEVER try to buy them separately. Please use the site's HOTWIRE and PRICELINE links to start your purchases, and let us know if you need any assistance or if you have success with a bid or purchase
Miami Posted April 23, 2009 Author Report Posted April 23, 2009 Thanks for the quick response. Any idea what hotel that 4* on Hotwire could be?
Miami Posted April 23, 2009 Author Report Posted April 23, 2009 4-star hotel in Downtown MontrealThis hotel features the following amenities: Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center High-speed Internet Access Area detailsGet a slice of European charm, without the long transatlantic flight Points of interest:1. Notre Dame BasilicaTravel information:8.9 miles to Montreal Trudeau Intl. (YUL)
AaronJB Posted April 23, 2009 Report Posted April 23, 2009 This could be the Hyatt, Hilton or Delta based upon those amenities, but the Hyatt is probably the most likely of the bunch. Please use the site's HOTWIRE link to start your purchase, and let us know how it goes or if you have any questions.
Miami Posted May 3, 2009 Author Report Posted May 3, 2009 Thanks again. I tried bidding several times on Priceline - up to $80 for 4* downtown. No luck. Ended up booking the Novotel through a corporate rate instead. I'm still considering booking the 4* on HOTWIRE for $83 and cancelling the Novotel. The Hyatt would be pretty nice.
