cougarken Posted April 23, 2009 Report Posted April 23, 2009 In the next few hours or by tomorrow at the latest I want to start bidding on a 4* or resort on the beach (Priceline zone 7). I spent hours last night looking over older threads so I think I know the basics. I need some help and support as I do this though. I would like to pay around $90-115 and get the best hotel available. I can get the Aston Waikiki Beach for $116 or the Aqua Park Shore for $89 and have no mystery. May 18-22 are my dates in Waikiki then will go to a beach house on the North Shore.I think I understand Priceline better than Hotwire so will likely start there. I want to this quick and simple. I have seen several success stories for 4* at $120 but I also know priceline is listing one of their 4*s at $126. Can you give me a good bidding scheme for Priceline area 7 (waikiki beach area)? Unless there is a chance to get a resort for $80 I don't want to spend time getting rejected 4 or 5 extra times. If I can't get a resort for $115 I will try for a 4* or maybe just grab the Aston Beach for $116. Thanks for the hand holding. I am a true newbie at this! Before I start though I noticed a couple of offers on Hotwire and wondered which hotels they are.1. 3.5-star hotel in Waikiki Beach AreaThis hotel features the following amenities:Near BeachPool(s)Restaurant(s)Laundry FacilitiesGolf NearbyTennis Nearbyand #24-star hotel in Waikiki Beach Area for 135This hotel features the following amenities:Fitness CenterPool(s)Restaurant(s)Business CenterLaundry Facilities
thereuare Posted April 23, 2009 Report Posted April 23, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding! It's not really clear from your post above... are you looking to start by bidding on a Resort property or a 4* property.I also know priceline is listing one of their 4*s at $126Which hotel is it that is being offered for $126/nite for your dates?Unless there is a chance to get a resort for $80 I don't want to spend time getting rejected 4 or 5 extra times. If we knew the "right" price we would just advise users to bid $xx and be done with it, but the 'right' price is unknown, which is why we suggest bidding strategies which go up gradually and systematically. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
