Hello,

I am looking for a 4* Chicago hotel in either the Millenium Park - The Loop - Grant Park or the NMA area. Dates to go are 9/9/2009-9/14/2009 - 5 Nights.

I have bid from 65-95 and been rejected.

Do we ever see wins for 5 nights? Should I split it into two segments of the trip and try again? I see plenty of wins on this board for my bidding range....any advice?

It may be early, but more importantly, rates are date specific.

If there is an event or large conference in Chicago during your dates than rates may be higher than usually and it will also take a higher than usual bid to be successful. As well, Chicago is somewhat of a seasonal city, as more visitors some to the city in the warmer weather months (May --> September) and rates are higher during this timeframe vs. the winter months when rates are typically lower.

AaronJB may know if something is happening in town during these dates, but is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID something you would consider now, or only once you get closer to your dates?

September is generally a very busy time in the city, as not only are there usually a fair amount of conventions, but it's the best time of the year weather-wise; usually dry and not too hot/not too cold. I don't see any conventions of note on the event calendar, but I'm not sure how often/how well that's updated.
