yellowdog Posted April 22, 2009 Report Posted April 22, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding!Would like a king size bed, pool and actually on the riverwalk. Would be nice to have a window or balcony (not sure if this is possible)Things like king bed, balcony etc isn't guaranteed. HOTWIRE or PRICELINE just book a standard room to you. When you use an opaque service like PRICELINE this means that you have accept any hotel in the zone you bid in.If you're trying to target a specific property then HOTWIRE can often be a better option if you're successfully able to identify it based upon the star rating and amenities shown before your purchase... the trade-off is that HOTWIRE usually costs a little more than PRICELINE, so you need to decide what is most important to you for a given stay, the lowest possible price OR the ability to take an educated guess as to the property you may receive.also take a look at this lik:I've never used Priceline or HotwireYellowdog.
sanantoniotraveler Posted April 22, 2009 Report Posted April 22, 2009 IF you use HOTWIRE or PRICELINE your not guarenteed a king bed or any preference or a river view room or any special requests, but you can always call the hotel directly after your booking and make the request, they will do there best to accomodate you.secondly id try HOTWIRE, you can basiclly pick to stay on the riverwalk up to a 4 star for 100.00 a night i booked my stay last night and got the hotel contessa in la villita area. thats a great hotel but the price doesnt guarentee a riverview room.
thereuare Posted April 22, 2009 Report Posted April 22, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding!Eluded to above but worth reiterating, the Riverwalk zone on PRICELINE is larger than the Riverwalk itself, and you could receive a hotel anywhere within the shaded region of the zone, so PRICELINE may not be the best option for this stay. While HOTWIRE's zone is also larger than just the Riverwalk, you have the ability to take an educated guess as to the property you will likely received based upon the amenities shown before your purchase, thus 'knowing' (assuming we guess correctly) if the location will work well for your needs. What is your budget for this stay? If you search HOTWIRE, are there any 4* or higher hotels offered in the Riverwalk zones (there are a few zones directly around the Riverwalk) which are within your budget? If so, post the details (star rating, amenites, zone, price, etc) and we'll try to help you identify it.Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
