blizzol Posted April 22, 2009 Author Report Posted April 22, 2009 I just bid on Priceline for the first time. I bid $70 for Miami beach 4*, I was rejected so I started a new search in South Beach for $100 4*. I won but then noticed I was in the Miami Beach area so I immediately called to correct the problem. They refused to change my search and said I agreed to the terms and there was nothing that can be done. I told them they could see I searched $70 for Miami beach right before winning, why would I increase my bid to $100 for that same area?!? South beach is more desirable and with that more expensive thats why I increased my bid to $100.Is there anyone that has been through this? ANything that I can do?? Dispute it with credit card, better business bureau....anything??hotel is Eden Roc Miami Beach- 6/1-6/3 $100 a night
yellowdog Posted April 22, 2009 Report Posted April 22, 2009 Sorry to hear about this. Yes, PRICELINE can be hard sometimes. And i think that the $30 "jump" in your bidding is nothing extraordinary to PRICELINE. And i think that some bidders do this jump when they are short of time or really want to hit something. Or out of pure frustration when the don't hit. And some jumps are just misstakes. I do belive that you made a misstake. But it looks like you're stuck with this hotel. I doubt you will gain any bigger success with BBB. You can try to dispute this with your CC company. But i have seen very few posted poitive outcomes going this way. And sometimes this process takes time. I think your best bet is to try to reach a service manager etc, try to pass the regular customer service. I don't want to sound negative, but sometimes is it very diffcult to deal with PRICELINE in this kind of matters. Please try to have a nice stay and enjoy the beach, and keep the board updated if you choose to take this further.Yellowdog.
