Priceline Hotel: Getting a kitchen in Virginia Beach 4/30-5/2?

Hubby and I are planning on celebrating our 5th anniversary at Virginia beach next weekend. We were married at Buff Gardens on May 2, 2004, so we want to go back to celebrate :)

We are bringing our 2 children(ages 2 and 8 months) and the "wayward son" we have taken in and his girlfriend who are 17 and 18. We need 2 rooms, one with a king bed preferably and the other it doesn't really matter. We are hoping to have a kitchen if possible so we can cook some of the time.

I was looking at Extended StayAmerica Virginia Beach - Independence Blvd.

Is this something I can get with priceline? And should I book them together(with a better chance of getting rooms next door to each other) or should I do them seperately? And can I even get the rooms next to each other when I ask at the hotel or will the hotel not allow this?

And what is the best way and time to bid to get this hotel? Or are there better options I am missing?

Thanks so much!!

Welcome to BetterBidding and happy 5th anniversary :)

If you use PRICELINE, you have to accept any hotel in the zone you bid in. PRICELINE only guarantee a room for 2 adults And this can mean a hotel with a king or twin beds. With HOTWIRE can you search for a room up to 4 guests. And you can many times determ if the hotel/condo got a kitchen or look for a property with a Kitchenette icon.

If you're trying to target a specific property then HOTWIRE can often be a better option if you're successfully able to identify it based upon the star rating and amenities shown before your purchase... the trade-off is that HOTWIRE usually costs a little more than PRICELINE, so you need to decide what is most important to you for a given stay, the lowest possible price OR the ability to take an educated guess as to the property you may receive.

If you're going next weend is it not to early to start bidding if you choose to go with PRICELINE

Post back with your thoughts and we'll take it from there.

Congrats on your anniversary. :)

On HOTWIRE (when I search for 2 adults/4 kids for these dates - I figured to just say the 18 year old was 17 to put them still in the "child" category on HOTWIRE), I see a 2* in Hampton with a kitchenette for $39. There's also a 2.5* in the Chesapeake Northwest zone with a kitchenette, but that's more than double the price at $97 per night. The 2* in Hampton with kitchenette and other amenity icons may be the Extended Stay Hampton.

Please use the site's HOTWIRE link.

We decided that a cheap, clean room was more important than the amenities. I would like a kitchen, but we can make due with a crockpot and hotplate I can bring, so we should be good. I think we are going to go with two rooms together because we prefer the kids to have their own place to sleep.

Is there anything/anywhere I should totally avoid? I want to book tomorrow or Monday the latest.

Thanks for the help!

Kara :)

What is your budget for this trip?

What about the Hampton hotel that was posted above (i haven't checked to see if appears for 2rooms or not) but at $39/nite that seemed to be inexpensive as well as has the Kitchen you wanted.

There isn't a kitchenette at that hotel. It shows laundry facilities.

We ended up using credits with Starwood and just getting 2 suites for $25. We opted to use the money for eating out one night :)

Thanks though!
