Anyone know what hotel this would be:

Fitness Centre

Restaurants

Business Centre

H.S. Internet Access

It is currently on Hotwire for $139/night.

Thanks for your help

I believe this may be a match for the the Hotel Sax. However, I don't think the deal is particularly great - I'd recommend considering the Dana Hotel and Spa on Orbitz.com for $145, as that's a very nice, newer 4* in the River North area, and at least with that you get breakfast.

Please use the site's Orbitz.com or HOTWIRE links to start your purchase.

I was wondering what is the actual rating for the Intercontinental in Chicago?

I've been checking the New Board of wins feature and it seems sometimes it is posted as a 4* and sometimes a 4.5*.

Is there a feature that makes it easy to identify on Hotwire?

Thanks for your help.

It is a 4.5* currently. There was a short period recently where it was changed to a 4* and then, in an unusual turn, went back to 4.5* about a week or two later (possibly the hotel appealed the change?)

The Intercontinental and Conrad have the same amenities listed and are both 4.5* Mag Mile/Streeterville hotels, but on the detail page, there is sometimes a 4.5/5 tripadvisor rating, which would be a match for the Conrad.

Is this for the same trip as your other thread? If so, this thread will be merged with that one.

Yes it is for the same trip. Thank you again for your help!

We will be driving into Chicago from Michigan the middle of July to attend the Chinatown summer Festival in Chicago.

We would like to stay just outside or on the fringe somewhere the night before so we can get into Chicago in good time for the festival.

Any suggestions for hotels/areas to look at?

Our two daughters would appreciate a good shopping mall nearby too!!

Thanks for your help. Much appreciated.

Personally, I would rather recommend the Oak Brook/Downers Grove area than Midway. There is really not much around Midway - the airport area is only a place I'd recommend for those who need to be near the airport. The Oak Brook/Downers Grove area has a lot more in the way of malls/restaurants. Hotels in those areas are also likely cheaper.

If you search for Oak Brook, IL for 7/18-22 for 2 adults/2 kids, there is a 4.5* in the Lombard-Oak Brook-Downers Grove area for $69 (the price you see may vary) which would appear to be a match for the Westin Lombard.

Please use the site's HOTWIRE link if this idea is of interest.

Thank you so much for your suggestion...................I appreciate your help. I will certainly have a look at the Oakbrook area.

The price for a 4.5* is amazing. We snagged the Conrad downtown for July 19 - 23 for $125 on the hotwire Travel Ticker. We are very pleased with this as any other deal we have come across is not available for the dates we are looking for. Wondering if there is an important convention going on that week.

Anyways, thanks again for your help.

While it's not the Conrad, there is a 4* on HOTWIRE in the mag Mile/Streeterville area for $84 when searching for 2 adults/2 kids for 7/19-23. That would be about a $40 per night savings over the Conrad - if you're just looking for a place to sleep, this would save $40 that could go towards other things.

Possibly the Hyatt, Swiss or Hotel Felix - as all three show with those amenities. The Hyatt is probably more likely, but again, could be any of those three.

If you're driving, the $40 savings vs. the Conrad deal could go towards parking.

Just booked the 4.5* hotel in Lombard/Downers Grove

for $69 and it indeed came up Westin Lombard. With free parking and just 40 minutes outside of Chicago it is a fantastic deal!!

This is for just one night July 18.

Thanks for the great suggestion!!

Glad to hear the purchase turned out well - this is a great rate for this hotel at about half off.

You could drive in from this hotel, but there is also the option of driving to the nearest Metra station (metrarail.com) and then taking the train in.

Please use the site's HOTWIRE and PRICELINE links, if you did not for this purchase.

Enjoy your stay. :)
