Priceline Hotel: 2.5* Miami (Downtown) Courtyard by Marriott

I am looking for help on my rebid after my 72 hour wait for a 3* downtown Miami hotel for 10/15 thru 10/16.

On Thursday 9/2 I bid the following;

$35 bid for 3* downtown - denied

$40 re-bid for 3* downtown & N. Miami - denied

$45 re-bid for 3* downtown & N. Miami & SW Miami - denied

I'm just wondering if I should start again at $46 and keep going higher or should I drop down and start at $40 and go up or just start at around $50. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Rates are higher than usual for your date.

For the next 2 weeks i would continue bidding as follows:

3* Miami Downtown:

Bid $42, if rejected add re-bid zone and...

Bid $46, if rejected add re-bid zone and...

Bid $50.

After that 2 weeks or so it will be time to re-evaluate the situation.

I would also advise, if you haven't done so already, booking a cancellable back-up 'just-in-case'.

Any ideas or recommendations on hotels that I could check into as my cancellable backup?

Also I was rejected on the $42, $46, and $50 rebid strategy and am presently waiting the 3 days until I try it again.

HOLIDAY INN has a $109/nite rate for your dates which appears to be cancellable (be careful as the lower rates i saw have cancellation fees).

RADISSON has a $169/nite rate (again be careful as some rates on their site have cancellation fees).

Tried for 2 weeks to get a 3* downtown Miami for 10/15-16 and bid

$42, $48, & $55 and was rejected all times.

Decided to lower to 2.5* and bid $40 and was rejected but was offered

a free rebid for $12 more but I still had a free rebid for another zone

and I bid $46 and was accepted for Courtyard by Marriot downtown

Miami.

Thats about what I wanted to pay for a 3* DT but prices seem to be a bit

higher that week for some reason. We're Staying for one night pre-cruise

and so I think it will be perfect for what I need it for.

Has anyone stayed at this hotel and can give me a review of what

it is like?

Thanks for sharing and posting your win... and adding this new hotel to our lists in the process!

Here is the only REVIEW i coudl find on this property... nearly a year old. Not likely too much info among Priceline users since 3* is usually available at these levels and even users who bid 2.5* are probably often upgraded to the 3* properties.

The review above states that it's near Bayside... which also means it must be relatively close to the port.
