blacklabby Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 Hello! Another newbie looking for some basic assistance. My family (2 adult and 2 kids) will be in Boston on 4/28 and 4/29. A 4 to 5 star hotel is what I seek. We prefer the back bay\copley area. I've never used this forum or priceline or hotwire. Any help would be appreciated. I am looking to spend about $150 a night for a nice place with 2 double beds. The Taj would be great. We'd consider the financial district for less, about $100 night, same 4-5 star rating. Nine Zero would be great in the financial district. Is there a link on the forum that dictates how to create your bid to find a specific hotel?
yellowdog Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding!I've never used this forum or priceline or hotwire.Any help would be appreciated. I am looking to spend about $150 a night for a nice place with 2 double beds.PRICELINE only guarantee a room for 2 adults. That could mean 1 bed. I think that HOTWIRE is a better option for you. You can search for a quad room there. This is a good link: I've never used Priceline or HotwirePlease post back with your thoughts.Yellowdog.
AaronJB Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 There is no way to bid for a specific hotel on PRICELINE and no way to 100% ensure a specific hotel on HOTWIRE. These services offer substantial discounts for a reason: you have to be at least somewhat flexible on where you end up. HOTWIRE does have a 4* in Copley for $169 and a 4.5* in the Quincy Market/Financial for $173. Prices in Boston seem somewhat above average for the time of year on these dates - maybe something going on in the city at this time. Please use the site's PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to start your purchase.
blacklabby Posted April 20, 2009 Author Report Posted April 20, 2009 Thanks for the tips! I used the HOTWIRE link and got the InterContinental for $131\night, plus tax.
