My first time using priceline (I used your link on this site) and placed the following bids today:

4* MTW $100...rejected

Added Chelsea for $105...rejected

Added Long Island for $110...rejected.

I only added the last two zones because they don't offer a 4* so I assume I don't have to worry about getting placed here, right?

I was afraid to add Brooklyn and La Guardia because they offer a 3 1/2 and that was a little too close for comfort! Don't want to chance it.

Tomorrow I get to bid again. Would you suggest starting at $115 and continuing this strategy or do you have any other advise?

Thanks so much for your help...this site is great!

Welcome to the site. :)

The title notes MTE 4*, but the post notes that you are bidding for MTW - which have you bid for already? What is your max budget per night? Rates do not seem particularly high for these dates. I would suggest trying $115, as - given the rates I'm seeing - I have to imagine the "sweet spot" is likely in the neighborhood of $115-120 (but I would definitely try $115 first and not go directly to $120.)

Please use the site's HOTWIRE and PRICELINE links to start your purchases.

Thanks for the quick reply! Bid was accepted at $115 for 4* MTE...Grand Hyatt...very excited as that is the hotel I had in mind (from reading previous wins). I used the PRICELINE link and will be using this board for future travel plans :)
