amynic Posted April 19, 2009 Report Posted April 19, 2009 My first time using priceline (I used your link on this site) and placed the following bids today:4* MTW $100...rejected Added Chelsea for $105...rejectedAdded Long Island for $110...rejected. I only added the last two zones because they don't offer a 4* so I assume I don't have to worry about getting placed here, right?I was afraid to add Brooklyn and La Guardia because they offer a 3 1/2 and that was a little too close for comfort! Don't want to chance it.Tomorrow I get to bid again. Would you suggest starting at $115 and continuing this strategy or do you have any other advise? Thanks so much for your help...this site is great!
AaronJB Posted April 19, 2009 Report Posted April 19, 2009 Welcome to the site. :)The title notes MTE 4*, but the post notes that you are bidding for MTW - which have you bid for already? What is your max budget per night? Rates do not seem particularly high for these dates. I would suggest trying $115, as - given the rates I'm seeing - I have to imagine the "sweet spot" is likely in the neighborhood of $115-120 (but I would definitely try $115 first and not go directly to $120.)Please use the site's HOTWIRE and PRICELINE links to start your purchases.
