Faujian23 Posted April 18, 2009 Report Posted April 18, 2009 I am trying to get a 4* hotel in NYC thru HOTWIRE. Dates: 7/17/09 to 7/20/09What would be your best guess of the following hotels:1. 4* MTC $144 Fitness, Restaurant, Business Center, Internet, SPA 2. 4* MTE $136 Fitness, Restaurant, Business Center, Internet [intercontinental Barclay?]3. 4* TS $189 Fitness, Restaurant, Business Center, Internet [Crowne Plaza?]4. 4* CP $139 Boutique, Fitness, Restaurant, Internet [Empire Hotel?]
Faujian23 Posted April 19, 2009 Author Report Posted April 19, 2009 Did not get a response to this one yet? Please, let me know if my guesses are correct. Specially, the 4* at MTC and 4* at MTE that I have mentioned.

If you are searching for 2, I'd also recommend the 70 Park Avenue Hotel for $138 on sale via Orbitz.com - that's a 4* Kimpton with free wine hour at night. Plus, I see this on Orbitz.com: "**Orbitz SPECIAL OFFER**Through 5/31, book any hotel in New York and receive a FREE $50 gift certificate from Restaurant.com (Select a hotel and add FREE offer on the add Attractions & Services page). "1. Le Parker Meridien.2. No, likely either Doubletree Met or the Omni Berkshire. The W New York is also a possibility, as well.3. Millennium Broadway or CP TS.4. Empire is correct. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or Orbitz.com link to start your purchase.
Faujian23 Posted April 20, 2009 Author Report Posted April 20, 2009 I was searching for 2 persons. I actually need couple of double beds. In the past I bought rooms from HOTWIRE and called the hotel directly for the double beds. Never had a problem. Does this not work NY hotels? I will take a look at the Orbitz hotels. Thanks for your response and I WILL BOOK THRU YOUR LINKS.
AaronJB Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 If you book a room on HOTWIRE for 2 people, you are only guaranteed 1 bed. While you've lucked out in the past, I definitely wouldn't count on 2 beds in NYC when you search for 2 on HOTWIRE. If you go the Orbitz.com route, try using coupon code deal0hotel, which may take 10% off each night.Orbitz.com and HOTWIRE links.
Faujian23 Posted April 22, 2009 Author Report Posted April 22, 2009 Not sure if I understand what CP TS stands for. Please, explain.

Faujian23 Posted May 3, 2009 Author Report Posted May 3, 2009 I like Millenium Broadway. I have a refundable booking for 7/16 to 7/19 for MB hotel for $199 per night for their upgraded rooms. I am not really saving a lot but better than the regular price provided by the hotel. Any other suggestions will be appreciated. HOTWIRE has $189 hotel that might endup being MB. But, no guarantee. I will keep looking at HOTWIRE just in case any better deal pops up. Thanks for your help guys.
