So I just recently learned about priceline as I was finding it quite expensive to book a regular hotel room in NYC for my upcoming stay.

I just had a quick question when bookin on priceline, I had read on another thread that room rates tend to be higher when bidding on extended stays (i.e. one week or longer), do you think it is better for me to bid on two separate hotels splitting the days 3 and 4 or should I still be able to get a relatively good deal if I bid for 7 days straight?

I am hoping to get something in the $100 to $115 range 3 to 3.5* in either TS, MTE, MTW, DT Soho.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Welcome to the site. The first couple of days of your stay seem moderately busier than the last 5, but not to the point where I think it's going to have a major effect on bidding. Rates really don't seem that bad (for NYC; they are expensive in general) I would try to bid for all 7 days first, with splitting your stay as a secondary idea if trying for all 7 days together doesn't work.

I wouldn't recommend downtown, as it's too far out of the way from a tourist standpoint.

I'd start bidding for a 4* in TS, MTE, MTW at $90. While that will probably turn out to be a "lowball" bid, I don't think it's that far off (you may need to go up to the $105-110 level), given some of the 4* rates that I'm seeing for these dates.
