Priceline Hotel: 3.5* Boston (Copley Square-Theatre District) Sheraton

Hi,

I've been trying to bid on 3.5* hotels for Boston on PL (using your link as always!) and haven't had any luck. Any suggestions are welcome (and needed!) Here's what I've tried so far:

I'd like to stay in a 3.5* or better and my max is $90 (I've seen a bunch of wins for less than this so I hope I'm being reasonable).

Any help is very much appreciated.

You have to keep in mind that rates are date-specific. While you may see cheaper wins for other dates, if something is going on in Boston in your dates, prices are going to be higher.

That said, now that I look at rates, I don't think you're that far off. HOTWIRE has a 3.5* in the Back Bay-Copley area for $105 (which looks as if it might be the Radisson.)

$75 isn't enough, but you may be successful in the $80-85 neighborhood. I would keep increasing by $5's ($80, $85, $90.)

So, after a few days of bidding and being rejected (following my original strategy) I was successful...Boston Sheraton (Copley Square) accepted my bid of $85- even though yesterday I had bid up to $90!

Taxes and fees = $42.77

Total charge= $297.77

This looks like a terrific deal for this property - the lowest refundable rate on the hotel website is $209, so this would be more than half off (and it's still more than half off the lowest non-refundable rate on the hotel website, as well.)
