i4toro Posted April 17, 2009 Report Posted April 17, 2009 Got a winning $50/night bid in Richmond (Innsbrook) for 2 nights (4/27/09 - 4/29/09) at the Marriott Courtyard. I started at $35, and incrementally went up $2 or $3 per bid until I hit at $50. I have used Priceline for Innsbrook in the past and was successful getting the Hyatt Place by bidding $35 for a 2 1/2 star. The higly recommend the Hyatt Place for $35. However, this time Priceline had a 3 star option that was not available previously. I was stuck with deciding whether to bid on 3 star or 2 1/2 star (with only one re-bid zone). To confuse matter further, the "standard" Priceline list of hotels now rates the Hyatt Place as 3 stars, where previously it was 2 1/2 stars.I chose to bid on the three stars, hoping to get the Hyatt Place, but also thinking the Hilton Garden might hit. End result was the Courtyard. It's a good price for $50, but the Courtyard in Innsbrook is pretty pedestrian - but clean. But, it is not as good as the Hyatt Place for $50 (or $35 for that matter). Just wanted to pass along the info in case there is anyone else who frequents this area wants the Hyatt Place instead. My recommendation is to bid on the 2 1/2 star. If anyone has experienced differently, please respond. Thanks!
AaronJB Posted April 17, 2009 Report Posted April 17, 2009 Congrats on your success!Thank you for posting your win - sorry it wasn't exactly what you were looking for, but still seems like a good deal for a Courtyard. If one bids 2.5* in this area, there is the *possibility* of being upgraded to a 3*.Using the site's PRICELINE link is also greatly appreciated.Enjoy your stay.
