JayBee Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 Hi,Any ideas what hotel this could be, doesn't seem to match any on the list. Details: 4* Central Strip Las Vegas, Casino, Fitness, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Spa for 05/19/09 - 05/21/09 ($69).Cheers for any help.
yellowdog Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 Do you also see a Hi-Speed Internet icon for this hotel?Yellowdog.
JayBee Posted April 17, 2009 Author Report Posted April 17, 2009 Cheers for the reply - the original option I was querying doesn't seem to appear anymore, now the 4* Central Strip does show High Speed Internet and is more expensive. Also shows trip advisor reviews of 1760+ so looks to be Planet Hollywood, i guess?
AaronJB Posted April 17, 2009 Report Posted April 17, 2009 Yes, it would appear to be Planet Hollywood.
JayBee Posted April 22, 2009 Author Report Posted April 22, 2009 Hi, looking for a bit of advice about breaking up stays using HOTWIRE into 2 separate bookings for what would be a 2 night stay at what I think would be the same Hotel (Wynn). Basically looking to stay for 05/19/09 - 05/21/09, if I search for the 2 nights together I get a 5* Hotel Centre Strip for $143p/n displaying:Casino, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-speed Internet Access, Golf Nearby, Tennis Nearby, Spa Services with TA reviews of 1820+ (Appears to Venetian)However if I break it down into 2 separate 1 night stays I get a 5* Hotel Centre Strip on each night for $108p/n displaying:Casino, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Golf Nearby, Tennis Nearby, Spa Services with TA reviews of 1640+ (Appears to be Wynn)So my question is.... is there any downside to making separate bookings for what would ideally be 1 stay at the same hotel (i.e. am I going to have to check out after the first night and then move to a different room the next day etc)?Sorry one more general bidding question, can comparisions be drawn between Hotwire rates and what your likely to get on Priceline and likewise with standard Priceline rates to their 'Name your own price' rates? Reason I ask is, for example, Trump Hotel shows on Hotwire for the 05/19/09 - 05/20/09 for $143 and what I think is the Wynn shows as $108. If I look on Priceline's hotels for the same date Trump is $178 and the Wynn is $499!! The Trump is the cheapest of all the 5* on there for that date, so is it likely that if I were to 'name my own price' that I'd get the Trump because this rate on priceline is the lowest - or is it not related because Priceline is pricing their standard rates and the Hotel decides to except or reject the name your own price rate? Thanks for any help.p.s. Hotwire doesn't seem to display the TA ratings out of 5 anymore, just the amount of reviews?
thereuare Posted April 22, 2009 Report Posted April 22, 2009 I just did a HOTWIRE search for your complete stay, 5/19-5/21, and am offered a 5* hotel with the amenities listed above:Casino, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Golf Nearby, Tennis Nearby, Spa Services with TA reviews of 1640+ (Appears to be Wynn)...at $108/nite, which i believe is indeed the Wynn.If you're able to see this on your own HOTWIRE search then there would be little reason to split the purchase as described above. There is little correlation between the hotel with the lowest retail price and the hotel that you will likely win on PRICELINE.HOTWIRE not displaying the TA rating number was a glitch in their system from the last update... however, they're back now (researching your stay above was the first time i just saw the complete data again)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. JayBee Posted April 22, 2009 Author Report Posted April 22, 2009 Hi, your right it is now showing as $108 for the complete stay but wasn't when I posted, I'd been checking most days for the last few weeks - hoping it would drop as the 05/19/09 seems to be particulary busy and all the prices high. Anyway I booked through your HOTWIRE link and can confirm it was the Wynn @ $108 for the 05/19/09 - 05/21/09, amenities as previously stated.I did contemplate trying PRICELINE but was worried I'd end up with the Trump and by the time I pay their resort fees I may as well just go through HOTWIRE and avoid the Trump. Thanks for your input!Cheers
thereuare Posted April 23, 2009 Report Posted April 23, 2009 Congratulations on your success!Glad to see you received the hotel you were hoping for and the transaction went smoothly, with this property appearing on a search for both dates together. Hope your luck is just as good in Vegas :)Thank you for sharing your results with the board and using our HOTWIRE link to begin your purchase.Enjoy your stay.
