Priceline Hotel: Help! want a 5* hotel Venetian for 6/19-6/21

Hi looking for tips/strategy,

My wife and I are planning a trip to Vegas on 6/19/09 - 6/21/09 i want to stay at a 5* hotel. First Preference would be the Venitian i would like to stay under $100 per night.

Can it be done? if so how should i proced?

If you're trying to target a specific property then HOTWIRE can often be a better option if you're successfully able to identify it based upon the star rating and amenities shown before your purchase... the trade-off is that HOTWIRE usually costs a little more than PRICELINE, so you need to decide what is most important to you for a given stay, the lowest possible price OR the ability to take an educated guess as to the property you may receive.

But I think your budget is to small for the moment. Taxes and fees adds up the total. I belive that the 5* on HOTWIRE for your dates is the Venetian priced at $143.

How does this sound to you?

143 i getting out of my budget. Now what would be my other 5* Hotel choices considering my $100 budget. I do now that i do not want to stay at the Trump.

What do u think are the posibilities to getting maybe one of the following hotels: (listed by preference)

1. Bellagio

2. Palazzo

3. Encore

4. Wynn Las Vegas

5. THEhotel at Mandalay Bay

There's absolutely no way of knowing what the possibilities of getting a specific hotel are, especially with PRICELINE, as there's no way to see inventory. There's no way of guaranteeing a particular hotel on HOTWIRE, either. Both services are meant to allow people to stay at *a* hotel cheaper, they are not great ways of trying to get a specific hotel. If you are using PRICELINE with a specific hotel in mind, you're more than likely going to be disappointed (for example, what if you bid for a 5* on PRICELINE and got the Trump?)
