TammyLynn Posted April 9, 2009 Report Posted April 9, 2009 We will be coming on 4/29 and leaving 5/3. 2 adults, no children. We would like to be within reasonable walking distance, as we will not have a car. I'd love to get a Hilton but the Hilton site is pricing at $239/night during our dates... yikes!I hope someone has input on these rooms:3-star hotel in Anaheim - Disneyland South ($49/night)Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Business. Laundry, High Spd, Tennis (Holiday Inn?)3-star hotel in Anaheim - Disneyland North ($59/night)Pool, Laundry, High Spd.2-star hotel in Anaheim - Disneyland North ($39/night)No amenities listed 2-star hotel in Anaheim - Disneyland South ($48/night)Fitness, Laundry, High Speed, KitchenetteI'm also considering trying Priceline 3* for $46, which I've seen several people win the Hilton with. We aren't really too picky, as we're open-close Disney people :)Thank you for any advice people on this forum have. I'll definately go through your links when I finally get the nerve to book.
yellowdog Posted April 9, 2009 Report Posted April 9, 2009 I'm also considering trying Priceline 3*Would you like to start with PRICELINE and do your maximum before going the HOTWIRE route?I can see that you're looking in both North and South zones. But isn't one of the zones better than the other if you don't have a car? I can't rember if it's North or South, worth looking at.Yellowdog

Being within walking distance was really a big thing for us, so I wasn't able to do Hotwire for this trip. I booked through Expedia at the Quality Inn (which, as I understand, isn't quality, but is close enough for us to walk to Disney and ended up being $45/night.)I have a feeling I could have done better on hotwire but it doesn't seem that many people book the 2* rates so they haven't been identified.Anyway, thank you.
yellowdog Posted April 10, 2009 Report Posted April 10, 2009 The savings aren't that big on lower rated hotels. That's why most bidders go for a higher rated hotel. Thanks for the follow-up and "closing" this thread with your ultimate purchase.Yellowdog.
zzn2323 Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 another place you can stay if you want to be close to disneyland and are not willing to do HOTWIRE or PRICELINE is super 8 on katella i could have booked it for 44 anight thru their web site. It really did not have bad ratings and then there is another one down the road and it was 59 a nigth. so if you want to be sure when you are staying take a look at super 8 web site. good luck. this is my first time using hotwire and it is scarry not knowing what you are going to get but be sure when you are listing how many people you can always put 4 so you can be assured 2 beds. I did not buy the travel insurance offered through hotwire either . did not seem to cover any of the reasons i would cancel.
