logdriver Posted April 5, 2009 Report Posted April 5, 2009 Hi everyone :)I'm new (to the forum and hotel bidding), but I've been browsing this forum and trying to learn exactly how to use Priceline. I guess I am looking for assistance on a search strategy for my upcoming trip (which came up at the last minute). Here are some details:- Dates: May 17th - 20th, 2009 (4 nights, 5 days, date not flexible)- Area: Honolulu Oahu Waikiki Marina (area not flexible)- Budget: $50 - $110 (flexible if needed, read below) - Preference: Hilton Hawaiian Village (flexible if my first few lower bids are rejected)Essentially, I'd really like to get into the Hilton for a low price. The reason that I am starting my budget as low as $50 is because I have seen a few people who got into the Hilton for that price. Although I know that I am not guaranteed anything using Priceline just because other people got the same deal, I figured that perhaps there is a strategy that might result in the outcome that I desire. If not, I am more than willing to place a bid for a 4 star hotel in the same area (and increase my price if needed), but I thought that I would try asking here first. Thanks for any advice!
thereuare Posted April 5, 2009 Report Posted April 5, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding! There is no way to target a specific property on PRICELINE. So confirm, what you really want is a strategy for a Resort class property in the Waikiki Marina zone? At this point, you're not interested in any other zone, correct? Please confirm that this is correct and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. logdriver Posted April 5, 2009 Author Report Posted April 5, 2009 Hi thereuare,Thanks for your correction - I am looking for a strategy for a Resort class property in the Waikiki Marina zone. I am not interested in any other zone. If I am unable to secure a room at a resort, then I will branch out to other hotels within the Waikiki Marina area.:)
