Priceline Hotel: washington 21-24 april

planning on heading to washington dc for these dates, budget $100 a night. would like to be near the mall so i was thinking of staying in this order:

1. wh-dt

2.cc

3.dc

id like a 4* but could settle for a 3.5 if required. hotel prices for that time though seem very expensive compared to say 18-20th april.

id be happy for any advice.

Hotel rates are EXTREMELY high for these dates - something going on in DC on these dates? $100 may be just enough for a 3.5* if you get lucky, but based upon prices I'm seeing - HOTWIRE's rates are $225-250+ - I don't think $100 is going to wind up being enough for these dates.

thank for the reply, i think theres a teachers convention on around that date. i might have to stay in philly instead although i was looking forward to showing my girlfriend around the sights. any thoughts on waiting until a few days before? would that have an impact on the prices?

Did you ever get anything? I am finding the same thing for that week. No teachers' convention - those usually are up at the Omni and hotel (former Sheraton) on CT Ave anyway....

i changed the dates to the 22-24, staying in ny for an extra day. bid up to 105 for a 3 star in the mainareas, dt,dp,cc and fb. might have to add in arlington and alexandria tomorrow.

still nothing.............

I'm looking Dupont, Downtown and Georgetown, 4*.
