misterbillusa Posted September 6, 2004 Report Posted September 6, 2004 I have a need for two round-trip tickets for El Paso (ELP) to Grand Junction, CO (GJT). The visit in Grand Junction needs to include Nov. 11, and the trip should be for about one week.Is it best to bid early (say starting now) or wait until the time gets nearer to obtain the best price? Thanks
thereuare Posted September 6, 2004 Report Posted September 6, 2004 Welcome to BetterBidding!Just as with hotels, it is my opinion to begin bidding as soon as you know your plans are firm. This allows you to try a few low bids and also not panic (and bid too much) in the early stages. Keep in mind that your bid does not include government fees and taxes, which can often be substantial... best of research the taxes and fees that would be imposed upon this route and deduct them from the amount you wish to pay in order to determine a bid amount. As well, the deals on Priceline Airfare are not as great as they once were. The airlines are hurting financially and have alread deeply discounted tickets thru conventional means... thus making the savings on priceline not as great as they once were. As well, now that the savings have been reduced, agreeing to at least one connection and giving up control over your depature/arrival times makes their airfare product less appealing.I would use our AIRFARE RATE COMPARE TOOL to determine rates thru conventional channels. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
