Priceline Hotel: 4* Newark (Jersey City) Westin

I'd submitted some lower bids on 2, 3 and 3.5* hotels in Jersey City as I believe I'd be happy with any of the hotels in the zone. I would have liked to get the Courtyard Marriott (3*) which I stayed at last year, but had bid up to $75 unsuccessfully on 3* hotels.

I figured that any higher than that and I might as well try for a 4* first, so using free rebids (Jersey City is the only zone in the area with a 4*), made the following offers:

$75, 80, 82, 85, 90.

I'd planned to stop at $90 and try later with the 3.5 and then 3* hotels, but the $90 was accepted for the Westin. Their website rates for this stay are $2250 so I'm pretty happy with it. Of course parking is about $10 cheaper at the Marriott, as is the wifi (free) and it's a little closer to the PATH station, but I'm looking forward to staying at my first Westin, and chances are that if I won the 3*, it might have been the DoubleTree Inn anyway.
