Hokie007 Posted April 1, 2009 Report Posted April 1, 2009 I was pretty impressed with the hotel when I first arrived. Check in was fast, no mention of Priceline except that my room was prepaid and I was upgraded to a room facing the pool which surprised me. One thing that did bother me at check in was the fact that this hotel charges a deposit of $100 which you get back when you check out. (I was told this was to cover for any possible damages to the room or possible theft (of their flat-screen plasma TVs?). Come on!) Sure enough my credit card company flags my card for possible fraud--luckily I had another card with me to pay for this "deposit".When I got up to the 5th floor, all I could hear was loud thumping music down the hall and in my room. I was not aware of the big Sunday pool party that runs until 5pm! Excellent view of the pool area--a picture perfect scene. The room was large, bed was comfortable, had modern furniture and a nice big plasma TV. The vanity/sink was outside of the bathroom/shower room which was nice. There was a mini-bar and I was warned at check in to be careful when opening the mini-bar--it is sensitive to movement and I may be charged for items if they move or are picked up (but not consumed.)The casino is not very big. There are a number of restaurants and two nightclubs (Body English and Wasted Space). The hotel has a younger appeal but is a good deal for the $40 I paid on Priceline (before taxes). There is a resort fee that gets charged at check out. As for location, you're a ways from the strip. I didn't try to walk it but I'd guess it's a few blocks or maybe 20 minutes. Overall. I liked this place but would opt for a 4 star strip hotel instead.
