TWH Posted March 31, 2009 Report Posted March 31, 2009 Hi,I'm looking to book either a 4* or 5* hotel in NYC for the 4 nights in June from 6/6 to 10/6, and then also for another couple of nights from 6/20 to 6/23. I'm taking my wife out there for our first anniversary, so I would like if possible to get a 5* for the first stay as that's the actual date of our anniversary. For the 3 night stay at the end of the trip, 4* will be more than enough :)Ideally would like to be either mid-town or on the park (east or west) in Manhattan.Any advice and tips would be greatly appreciated :)Cheers!
AaronJB Posted March 31, 2009 Report Posted March 31, 2009 Congrats on your anniversary. :)What would be your budget per night for each stay?
TWH Posted March 31, 2009 Author Report Posted March 31, 2009 Many thanks :)Well I've budgeted up to $200 per night, but I'm hoping to get it for a bit less.
TWH Posted April 1, 2009 Author Report Posted April 1, 2009 Not had any luck so far with MTE. Went up to about $170. Looking at the hotel rates on other sites, it looks like they go up a lot for the monday/tuesday nights. So could i be worth splitting the bid to sat/sun and then mon/tues. If I do end up getting two separate hotels then that's no great problem.
thereuare Posted April 1, 2009 Report Posted April 1, 2009 Exactly which zones, by PRICELINE name, have you included in your bidding? If you don't want to SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID i see what i believe to be the W New York on HOTWIRE for $165/nite (reivews are decidely mixed). However, if splitting is not an issue, i would consider a 4* for the first 2 nites of your stay (where i'm confident you can succeed at bid amounts lower than you have already placed) and then try for the last 2 nites of your stay, where if you don't need a 4* hotel for the last 2 nites i would consider what i believe to be the new Doubletree Chelsea for $115/nite as it would likely represent a significant discount vs. a 4* property and the hotel will be brand new (officially opening mid-May)... the Doubletree is also available for your complete stay if this is of interest to you, but you said you were looking for a 4* so don't know if this would be an option for your full stay. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
