sjl513 Posted March 30, 2009 Report Posted March 30, 2009 I'm new to this board - although have successfully bid on rooms in California and Ohare recently. I'm looking to get close to Randall Rd in Elgin and wonder how many hotels fall under the Dundee-Elgin area. There must be a place on this wonderful board to find that info. Or is the Holiday Inn Northwest Elgin the only one that might come up if I bid? Is that the only 3* in the area? I'm ok with 2.5* if close to Randall Rd - but not if they are further away. Any hints on how to narrow down my search to get what I want? Thanks for any help.
thereuare Posted March 30, 2009 Report Posted March 30, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding!Or is the Holiday Inn Northwest Elgin the only one that might come up if I bid? Is that the only 3* in the area?As per the comments at the top of the Priceline Hotel List:This list is NOT a complete list of all hotels that Priceline offers in this area, it is ONLY a compilation of hotels that have already been reported on this forum. Hotels are added/removed by Priceline all the time, and star ratings can change at ANY time... In light of the above, you MAY get a hotel that is NOT on this list, or get a hotel on this list but at a star level you didn't expect (if the star rating has changed).I'd start with our companion site, BackUpBooking.com which displays all of PRICELINE's retail hotels on a map (the 'retail' and the 'name your own price' divisions use a different universe of hotels, but there is a lot of overlap, so it's a good start) and see which hotels land in PRICELINE's zone for this area.If the zone and/or hotels are too geographically spread out for you then HOTWIRE may be an option if you're able to identify the property before your purchase based upon the star rating and amenities. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you find and we'll take it from there. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
AaronJB Posted March 30, 2009 Report Posted March 30, 2009 HOTWIRE may be a better choice in this situation, as at least with that you can make an educated guess as to which hotels may be showing, instead of going with the randomness of PRICELINE.
