tpnp Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 This is my first time using this site. I am trying to book a hotel in Vancouver July 14-16 for 2 adults, 2 kids. On HOTWIRE, there is a 5* for $183 with pool, restaurant, business center, high speed internet, spa and fitness. Is Sutton Place the only 5*? There is also a 4* for $135 with fitness, pool, restaurant, high speed and business center. How do you know which hotel it is and what an appropriate bid should be?
thereuare Posted March 31, 2009 Report Posted March 31, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding!I'm not sure if you understand the differences between PRICELINE and HOTWIRE. With HOTWIRE (what you inquired about above) they show you the star rating, zone, amenities, adn price... you choose to either accept one of hotels offered or not, there is no bidding involved.PRICELINE is where you choose the zone, minimum star rating, and offer a price... they either accept that bid and you now own the room for those nite(s) or your bid is rejected. For further info see this thread: I've Never Used Priceline or HotwireFeel free to ask any questions you have and/or let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Is Sutton Place the only 5*?I'm also looking at a summer Vancouver trip. Scanning this board, I saw that the Vancouver West 5* hotel is most likely Sutton, but could be the Pan Pacific: 5 Star Vancouver Hotels
tpnp Posted July 4, 2009 Author Report Posted July 4, 2009 I ended up getting the Hyatt Regency for $116/night through PRICELINE.
thereuare Posted July 4, 2009 Report Posted July 4, 2009 Thanks for the follow-up!Please remember to post your wins as you receive them so that the information can help others, and please use the requested PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your future travel purchases.
