awesomemama Posted March 27, 2009 Report Posted March 27, 2009 I will be flying in to SFO on 4/4 with 4 of my children, ages 9-16. Spending about a week playing in San Francisco. I want to make sure I make an educated choice on the area I bid on. The only things I am sure we want to see are Alcatraz and six flags. Since we will not have a car, and will be a woman alone with 4 kids, I want to be close to fun or transport, and very safe. Suggestions?
Gallus50 Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 If you're going to bid on Priceline, you might have to go for two rooms since you have 5 people. PL only guarantees space for two people in each room. Hotwire might be a safer choice, because you can specify 3-4 people per room. There are also good prices to be had conventionally, and you would have more control. One place I might recommend would be the Grovesnor Hotel Suites, as they have 1 and maybe 2 bedroom suites that can sleep more people. It's on Nob Hill so it's quite safe, and if you book ahead online, they give you a substantial discount. The Gaylord Suites might have two bedrooms; I'm quite sure they have 1 bedrooms but they may only book by the week. Donatello is more like apartments. The Fitzgerald may also have two connecting rooms for a decent price. With prices down, you may just be able to bid on PL for two rooms and do well. You'll have to request for them to connect, but it may be possible. For safety and transport, I'd say USE or Embarcadero might be good. FW is fun, touristy and safe, but not so good on transport. You kinda have to use the cable car, which can be crowded. USW is right next to the Tenderloin, which is a little sketchy.Let us know what else you need and we'll try to help.
