A really excellent hotel on the banks of the Chao Praya River, near Thaksin bridge; stayed there for four nights in September/October 2003, 2 nights in December 2003 and 3 nights in June 2004, and I'd definitely rate this as a 5-star hotel as well (not as 4-star as in priceline).

There are three buildings on the quite large area, the main building, the south wing and the north wing. The main building is a bid more far away from the river - the pool is ahead of it.

I had a room in the South wing two times and payed an upgrade charge of 15 USD++ to the priceline price I've payed to get a river view room in the fourth floor with very nice view on the river and silom in the distance. The other time I had a garden view room; interior same but view from balcony not very nice, but still ok. The rooms are very nice with wooden floors and large bed(s) (twin room = two queen size beds), nice balcony, desk, flatscreen TV (CRT) mit pay-tv system, minibar, nicely decorated though not too big bathroom (no separate shower cubicle). Excellent room cleaning, very friendly employees everywhere, 15 minute-boat-shuttle-service to Saphan Taksin pier (Skytrain station). Access to small shopping mall (Royal Garden Center).

The pool area is very nice done with a lot of plants and trees, poolbar, quite large whirlpool, good service. Lots of restaurants on the area, but extra expenses very high in this hotel... little bottle of drinking water at boat pier bar 105 Baht. Internetaccess in the business center fast and on good equipment (TFT-screens), but expensive as well (around 430 Bt. for 35 minutes).

Room service very friendly and efficient, 24hrs of course, prices for room service meals quite ok for this hotel standard type (pizza 270 Bt., thai rice with chicken 180 bt etc.).

Overall, a very excellent experience and I will soon go there again!
