BusterBrown
I am going to Savannah from 4/17 to 4/24 and want to stay in the Historic District. I tried bidding through priceline for my stay but have been rejected each time. I started my bid at $85 for 4* hotel and then 3.5* hotel. I moved up my price each day by $5 increments. My last bid was for $110 and I was rejected. FYI- The lowest price on the hotels website for 4* is Avia Hotel $159 and 3.5* is Hyatt $174.30. Do you think I should split up my length of stay in my request to get a better price? (i.e. My original request 4/17-4/24 to new requests of 4/17 - 4/20 and then 4/21-4/24). I know that there is a good chance that I would have to change hotels but, I don't mind that. Or do you think I should just bid higher?I appreciate your imput! Link to comment
thereuare
Where are you finding that rate for the Hyatt... i'm seeing rates at $200+ for your dates above. Also, i wouldn't necessarily assume that SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID down the middle would be the best option as it appear the weekend dates (Friday and Saturday) are more expensive than the midweek dates. How much would you need to save vs. the $159/nite rate at the Avia to make an opaque purchase worthwhile? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. BusterBrown
I found the hyatt rate on the hyatt website. It was the lowest rate that they had. I would like to save some money on a hotel if possible. I realize that the Avia being a 4* hotel is a good rate but, if I could get it for a cheaper price; why not?I will make sure to use your PRICELINE link for bidding - Thanks!! Link to comment

BusterBrown
I would like to save a minimum of $30 per night. So, my max bid would be $129. Link to comment
