ppwlee1 Posted March 25, 2009 Report Posted March 25, 2009 Hi,I have been trying for Residence Inn Manhattan Beach in LA Redondo for Sept 2009 with no luck. There is only 1 free bid zone and I started with $45 up to $48 but wouldn't want to go beyond because of the possible upgrade to 3.5* (Crown). Should I be patient and continue trying? Thanks.
yellowdog Posted March 25, 2009 Report Posted March 25, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding! There is nothing that say that $48 is the magic number for a possible upgrade, even if it's a historical amount. The revenue manager at Crown can load lower rates for PRICELINE at any time. Hotels come and go, and *ratings change all the time. For the moment is the industry slow so you never know.I know that there's only one 3.5* hotel reported for the moment in this zone. But a 2.5* can be upgraded to 3* or a 3.5* can be downgraded to 3* at any time.also read this Should i Bid Early or Close to Arrival DatePlease post your date(s) for your stay if you need any help.YellowDog.
ppwlee1 Posted March 25, 2009 Author Report Posted March 25, 2009 Ok, I understand that there's always a risk getting a 3.5* or lower rating hotel. My stay would be from Sept 26 to 29 or 30th, any advice on bidding strategy would be appreciated. Thanks.
3cs Posted March 26, 2009 Report Posted March 26, 2009 Hi. I was hoping for the Residence Inn Manhattan Beach also, but won the Crown Plaza Redondo Beach. My last bid before I won was $53 and I won at $55 for the dates May 21 - May 23. The winning bid may be different for your dates.
