Hokie4Life Posted September 1, 2004 Report Posted September 1, 2004 This was part of an Air + Hotel purchase.3* Amenities listed: Restaurant(s), Pool(s), Fitness Center, High Speed Internet Access, and Business CenterIncidentally, AAA lists this as a 4 Diamond HotelThe hotel reservation is listed as a Run of House reservation (guaranteed a room with 2 double beds). I'm really hoping to be able to get a room with a single Queen or King.Even though I can't get Starwood points for the stay, I wonder if it's possible that they would try their best to fulfill my request if I flash my card. Any suggestions?
thereuare Posted September 1, 2004 Report Posted September 1, 2004 Play stupid (usually not hard for me to do :) ) and just hand them your Starwood card along with your credit card upon check-in. I usually ask, "Any chance of getting a King room on a high floor?" (or something similar)As well, if the hotel has a separate check-in line for Starwood members i would use that... this way you have reason for showing your card and perhaps the desk clerk assigned to members will be a bit more experienced and know is and is not permitted.I have usually found Starwood employees to be customer service oriented. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Hokie4Life Posted September 1, 2004 Author Report Posted September 1, 2004 Thanks for the tip. I'l be sure to post a review when we return.
