slurpinator Posted March 23, 2009 Report Posted March 23, 2009 Hi,I've used this forum and PRICELINE a few times for hotels in north america, but never for the UK and am looking for some tips.I'll be in London on Apr 24-27 and then have an early morning departure out of London City Airport. What would be an ideal area to bid on so that I'm close to the airport? What would a successful bid strategy look like for this? I'm not too picky on hotels, but am just looking for a decent deal. Thanks for the tips!
yellowdog Posted March 23, 2009 Report Posted March 23, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding! The best thing you can do is to look at the PRICELINE zones for London to decide which zone(s) to stay in.In order to help you with the best strategy the board need to know, zone(s) you're willing to stay in, you're maximum budget/night and preferd * rating at hotel.I've used this forum and priceline a few times for hotels in north americaWhy haven't you posted your PRICELINE wins at the board so other members could gain from your information :) YellowDog.
Romelle Posted March 23, 2009 Report Posted March 23, 2009 http://www.tfl.gov.uk/assets/downloads/dlr-route-map.pdf will give you a start on your mapping. The rail line says it runs every 8 minutes. Romelle
thereuare Posted March 23, 2009 Report Posted March 23, 2009 I've used this forum and PRICELINE a few times for hotels in north america...We're glad the forum has been helpful to you in the post, but it's also somewhat disappointing that this is your first post :), please share your hotel wins with the board so that others can benefit from the information, just as you have benefited from those who have posted their own wins before you.Once you decide upon the zones let us know and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. slurpinator Posted March 23, 2009 Author Report Posted March 23, 2009 Hi,The zones that I'd like to stay at are:-Docklands-City/London Bridge-Mayfair/Soho-BloomsburyI am not picky between a 3* and 4*. What would be a good bidding strategy? Thanks,Kevin.
thereuare Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 We don't want to suggest a strategy that goes higher than you're willing to spend, what is your maximum bid for this stay? Are you willing to pay more for a 4* vs. a 3.5* vs. a 3* OR is your goal the least expensive 3* or better hotel for this stay? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
