I didn't have any luck with the resort finding anything within my budget, even went as high as $145/night. I hope the Raddisson will be ok and we can use the $$ we save on the lodging for meals and transportation to get to the beach. I realize over Christmas the rates are much higher.

While i do like the idea of starting early and lowballing for a great deal, if you really wanted a Resort, i would have just waited and tried again in a week or so... this far ahead of your stay i wouldn't compromise in terms of what you want, just try again at a later point as lower priced inventory may be released down the road.Enjoy your stay(s).
