Hotwire Hotel: Hotwire questions...

Hi, guys!

You have helped me so much already in the past couple of weeks and now I have a question that I can't find.

My question is this. Do the Hotwire prices go down as your dates of travel get closer? If I wait til later to book, could I get a better deal?

I am looking at a 3.5* in the Universal area. Amenities are:

Fitness Center

Pool(s)

Restaurant(s)

Business Center

Laundry Facilities

High-speed Internet Access

$77/nt (that's today's price, yesterday was $80)

TripAdvisor Rating is 4.5/5 with 400+ reviews.

I have already pinned it as the Crowne Plaza at Universal, which would be wonderful. My husband is military, so I can't really book anything until he knows for sure he's ok to go. So I have to wait to book. But obviously, I can't wait too long!

If I do book it, and he is unable to go, can I sell the reservation to someone else and just let the hotel know that someone else will be there?
