ubieta Posted March 16, 2009 Report Posted March 16, 2009 Hi, I'm newbie in all this. I'm going to New York from the 24 of april to the 2nd of may. Since I'm ready to propose to my girlfriend I'd love to stay at a very nice hotel. I will pay up to 200$ a night (taxes included) and I would rather use Priceline or Hotwire. Any suggestions on how to proceed? By the way, I'm Spanish. Is that a problem for bidding?Thanx!
ubieta Posted March 16, 2009 Author Report Posted March 16, 2009 I only tried 4* and CPS because I wanted to stay at Parker Le Meridien. My bidding was120 rejected125 rejected130 rejected135 rejected140 rejectedI really wanted that hotel but since I'm not succeding, I'm thinking about expanding my area to MTE or MTW.Any recommendations for my starting bid?By the way, I'm using your PRICELINE link. Thanks
ubieta Posted March 16, 2009 Author Report Posted March 16, 2009 Fri, Apr 24 to Sat, May 23.5-star hotel in Midtown East $106Restaurant, Business Center, High Speed internet..Thanks
thereuare Posted March 17, 2009 Report Posted March 17, 2009 I don't see the 3.5* property in the MTE when searching HOTWIRE for your dates.I do think that if you bid MTE and MTW you will likely win at levels less than you have already bid, but you first need to decide if these zones are acceptable to you... if so let us know and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. ubieta Posted March 17, 2009 Author Report Posted March 17, 2009 Thanx for the answer. MTE would be ok. All the 4* winners look good enough. MTW not sure. I really don't like to spend my trip at the Sheraton...And in DTSoho most of the winner bids for 4* are fot the Millenium Hilton? And of course I'll use PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to my travel purchases. :)
thereuare Posted March 17, 2009 Report Posted March 17, 2009 I think you'll have success in the MTE zone, and while many of the wins in Downtown are at the Millenium Hilton, there is no telling which one you would receive, plus i wouldn't recommend spending an entire week downtown... you'll quick get board with the subway ride towards midtown. If you want to move forward bidding MTE (and CPS) you have FIVE re-bid zones at the 4* level. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* MTE...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $115, if rejected close broser and use our link to re-access priceline.Select 4* MTE and CPS...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $135.If the above is rejected there is then a 4* available on HOTWIRE in the MTE zone (believe to be the Inter-Continental Barclay) for $139 which you can purchase.Any questions feel free to ask. Thanks for using our PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes.
