iahphx Posted September 9, 2004 Report Posted September 9, 2004 It is a shame that the Rt. 202 area is now in the same zone as the downtown area of Wilmington. The two are vastly different experiences. I suspect most folks would prefer the more convenient suburban experience of 202 over the downtown area -- unless their specific reason for being in Wilmington was a downtown event. FWIW, there seem to be 3 3-star hotels that pop up: the Doubletree (202), the Wyndham (downtown) and the Sheraton Suites (downtown). All seem about equally likely, so I guess the odds that you go downtown are about 67%.
RightD Posted September 17, 2004 Author Report Posted September 17, 2004 iahphx - Agreed... I can imagine the frustration of a traveller expecting their hotel to be in one general area and ending up in another. Hotwire is largely the same, unfortunately, with the exception of separating Claymont into a different zone.Hotels - Other than this particular bid it has been a while since Priceline has booked me into the Sheraton or the Doubletree. I have ended up at the Wyndham for the past half-dozen stays (my least favorite of the three as it happens) but for the price I can't complain all that much.- RightD
