Rhine-and-Roses Posted March 15, 2009 Report Posted March 15, 2009 We spent a night in Frankfurt in March 2009 and were lucky to end up at the Westin Grand. We had stayed here before (at rack rate) with a number of minor problems. This time it was flawless. Room was in perfect order, clean as a whistle. Reception was fast and cordial. Room keys worked every time. We used the spa, pool, and fitness center, all of which we loved. Everyone we had contact with was friendly. Concierge was efficient and knowledgeable. Room was typical, with super-comfy bed. There was a flat panel TV, plenty of space to store things if you are here for more than a few nights. Two bathrobes. The Nespresso machine is a nice touch- though odd that they have three (not four) capsules for a double room. The mini-bar was well stocked, plus had room for our milk. Location was at the Hauptwache- massive shopping area. Just a couple of blocks from the old part of town and the cathedral. There were plenty of restaurants close by. We at at the Rustico for dinner- right behind the hotel. (We had wanted to eat at the hotel's Asian restaurant but had not reserved and did not want to wait. You might want a room on the courtyard for quiet, since due to location, you are not going to get any nice view of Frankfurt.
