espeelma
This may solve the mystery of the new 3.5* hotel showing at $99. Trip details show the hotel to be Doubletree NYC-Chelsea.Only concern is that the address listed on the confirmation is 128 West 35th Street. The Doubletree site shows address as 128 W. 29th Street. This appears to be a new hotel that is not yet open, but is taking reservations beginning later this spring.FitnessRestaurantBusiness Center Internet Link to comment
jags25
I just got this hotel too for 6/23 to 6/26 at $99/night. I was fully expecting the Wyndham Garden Midtown Convention Center, so I was a little shocked when this hotel came up. I also noticed the discrepancy between the address that Hotwire shows and the address on the Doubletree.com website. The address Hotwire provided was actually across the street from Macy's. The address that Doubletree.com shows is six blocks away and does not seem to be by any subway stops, so I am a little bit bummed about that. Link to comment

There is a subway stop at 28th and 6th ave. very close to the Doubletree. Thanks for posting this win. I am very seriously considering this Hotel. Very hard to turn down at 99.00! Link to comment
MitchB
Well part of the mystery solved. The Doubletree NYC-Chelsea but I'm puzzled about the address. So this may be a new hotel take reservations for the spring? It still makes me wonder what to expect, especially with different addresses. Even still, like timcanteen said, $99 is hard to ignore. MitchB
I looked at the Doubletree site and it does indicate that it is a new hotel taking reservations after May 2. Sounds good and close to transit as the site shows an address of West 29th. Hotwire must have the address wrong. Regardless, my wife brought up an interesting point. If it is new and still under construction, what if it isn't finished by our date of May 16th? Does anyone know what Hotwire would do in that situation or is it Doubletree's problem? Any thoughts appreciated. Link to comment

I understand that with the economy the way it is, Its a very good possibility that the Doubletree will not be opened in time and if not, Im not sure what would happen. I know that I do not want that headache! I'm going to wait and see how this plays out. Link to comment
kessdarln
I too got the Doubletree - Chelsea for $99 7/10-7/15. Fitness, Business Center, High Speed Internet, RestaurantSince Doubletree and Hilton are the same corporation, there is a Hilton on 35th near Macy's so that may be why that is the address, since the Doubletree - Chelsea is not yet open and that may be the contact location. If you indeed buy this and complain about the confirmation address not being the same as the physical address, you may have grounds for a cancellation of the reservation or you may be eligible for some Hotdollars deposited into your account for use on a future stay. If the hotel is not ready, then HOTWIRE may give you a refund or move you to similar accomodations. Link to comment
