Sylph Dancer Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 I'm a first time bidder and poster. Thanks to all who posted previously about how to bid. I had trouble figuring out how to post. If I have done something wrong please let me know so I can learn and improve.I'm trying to bid on the Lake Mary Marriott, so based on previous reviews I used the link from here to make a "back up" reservation at La Quinta and then used the link from here to bid on PRICELINE.The price I named was for $50 a night for a 3 night stay beginning 3/19. I selected 3.5 stars in the Lake Mary section. I didn't get it, but I got a message that says I can bid again if I add $14. I'm not sure what to do next so I guess I'll wait until tomorrow and then bid $5 more. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
thereuare Posted March 15, 2009 Report Posted March 15, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding! At the 3.5* level you have TWO re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.I'd try as follows:Select 3.5* Lake Mary...Bid $53, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $57, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $61.Any questions feel free to ask. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. (NOTE: you may get an email from PRICELINEt letting you know you're elgible to bid again... please DO NOT use the link in their email but instread return here and use our links again to begin your bidding)Good luck and let us know how it goes. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Sylph Dancer Posted March 15, 2009 Author Report Posted March 15, 2009 Thanks for the help. I did exactly as suggested. I went through the betterbidding link and won Lake Mary Marriott for $53, following the suggestions.Since I waited 24 hours, I did not have to add any additional areas. I'm glad I got through the experience. With the help of BetterBidding, the whole experience was a lot less frightening.
thereuare Posted March 16, 2009 Report Posted March 16, 2009 Congratualtions on your success!Glad to hear of your win and that the board was helpful with your purchase and decision to use PRICELINE.Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using our PRICLINE link to begin your bidding.Enjoy your stay.
