besj Posted August 27, 2004 Report Share Posted August 27, 2004 Living in Sweden where the summers tend to be rainy and cold I go to Spain every summer (at least for the last three years) for holiday. I go to a small city 180 miles south to Barcelona where I have found a real nice house I can rent.To get there I need a car. As one of my children is handicapped I need a wagon to have room for the wheel chair. To cut a long story short I found out I could use Hertz prepaid rates from www.opodo.co.uk even though I live in Sweden. Those rates are very favourable compared to the standard rates. For a wagon (extreme but the others were also favourable) I got a rate of USD 500 instead of USD 1300 for a standard rental. The 500 rate was also available as prepaid from the Hertz UK site but then you had to have a UK post address.Prepaying is not too fun, but the penalty for cancelling was just GBP20 and for no-show GBP 50 so I can live with that...
