Regis
OK, I got the hotel I wanted. Now, how do I get there from EWR? Anyone? Link to comment
thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding!Don't know how i missed this earlier. Was this your first bid or did you have prior bids (at other times) rejected? You have a few options, but ultimately you want to get to the PATH train, and there are a few ways to do that:-take monorail at EWR to the NJ Transit Train to Newark Penn Station (note: this is different then NY Penn Station). From there transfer to PATH train to Exchange Place. PATH fare is $1.50 and NJ Transit Train to Newark Penn Station is ~$10 or so (give or take a few)-take NJ Transit but to Newark Penn Station. Bus fare is about $2 or so-taxi from official stand at EWR will run you about $35, but i know a local cab company that will take you from EWR to Jersey City for $25. Let me know if you want the name and number. Here is a link with more details of your options: HOW DO I GET FROM AIRPORT TO HOTEL (follow the EWR info until the Newark Penn Station info, then take the PATH train to Exchange Place) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
Regis
Thank you Thereuare for your response. Much appreciated. The USD 50 sucessful bid was my third attempt at getting a 3 star in Jersey City. First bid USD 37 = rejectedSecond bid USD 45 (72hrs later) = rejectedThird bid USD 50 (72hrs later) = accepted!Just out of curiosity I checked the prices at Hyatt.com for the same night and the best availabale rate they had was USD 219.I would be grateful if you could refer me to this cheaper taxi company. I will be flying out of GVA so I may be too tired to use public transportation to the hotel. Link to comment
