Fresh from my very first success on Priceline I decided to try for a 1 night stopover in Vancouver.

$52 Downtown 4*

$55 Downtown 4* + Coquitlam-Burnaby

$58 Downtown 4* + Coquitlam-Burnaby + City Hall

$60 Downtown 4* + Coquitlam-Burnaby + City Hall + Surrey-Pitt Meadows

It's probably too early at the moment so I'll leave it a few more weeks and try again.

Downtown - $60

Downtown + Coquitlam-Burnaby - $65

Downtown + Coquitlam-Burnaby + City Hall - $70

Downtown + Coquitlam-Burnaby + City Hall + Surrey Pitt - $72

I thought since it was much closer to the date than the last time I tried I would have more success getting a room around this price. I've seen several successful bids around this price but I assume I'm still much too early. We leave for Canada on the 27th April though.

I would agree your not bidding to early. I've checked rates directly and there not unusually high for your dates. Hotwire also shows good availability...

Are you bidding in USD or another currency? $70+ is still not an unusually high PL rate for Vancouver.

I applied in USD but just keep getting refused.

I tried again this morning and included Langley and North Vancouver going up to $77 but still got rejected. Is it a public holiday on that date?

It's exactly the same for my dates - 1 May to 4 May (Friday to Sunday nights) - no luck bidding up to the same amount as you (over a period of several weeks). I thought a weekend may be easier to get. Hotwire rates look fairly high for my dates too which surprises me.

While we do see some 4* wins in this zone for $75 and under, it is not uncommon for it to take more (especially as we get further and deeper into Spring) and it can often take up to $85-$95, but not sure how high you're willing to go for this nite.

What is the best rate you're able to find for a 4* hotel in this zone?
