This hotel hasn't been identified but the Marriott Laguna Cliffs is a likely candidate. The Marriott is $179 on 3/12 though, so $169 isn't any deal. If this is indeed the Marriott it would be cheaper booking directly after Hotwire's transaction fee.

You might win this hotel for less by bidding for a 4* in Priceline's Dana Point-San Clemente zone. I'd suggest an opening bid of $100.
