Hi All...

I am looking for a 4* or 5* hotel and was hoping to get it through Priceline, but I'm not sure how to start my bid. Well, if anything, I think I am just scared but I have seen the great deals that people have gotten here. =)

Should I choose the strip as the location and start with a 5 star rating? People have told me differnt things, so I thought I'd come to the experts. :)

Thanks much to everyone for your help.

Hey, just thought I'd post since I was looking for a similar thing, plus you're a fellow OCer! Anyways, I'd recommend staying away from PRICELINE, at least that is what I am doing, if you want a 5* hotel. I say that because you may end up with the Trump. Nobody seems to want that property, and my concern was I'd end up with it. You can steer clear of the Trump if you only search for 5* south strip, but that leaves Mandalay Bay as your only option for 5* hotels with PRICELINE. Again this is only if you're looking for the 5* using Priceline. If you're only looking for 4* hotels, then it's not an issue.

luckygyrl8a - Welcome To BetterBidding!

There is two "issues" with PRICELINE for LV that posters talk about.

1. Westin 4* in the South strip zone. This hotel is slight of the strip but is a very quick walk.

2. The most recent issue is the 5* Trump in North strip zone. There is no Casino.

Please let us know if you're ok with this and we will take it from there. also look at HOTWIRE as an option for your stay.

Kewl Thanks for the heads up. What I'm really hoping for is Mandalay Bay but I'm not sure how often that comes up. So what are you using to get your hotel room then? So just use south strip then right?

Hi and thanks for the welcome! I'd really like to stay on the strip, mandalay if possible. Do you think it's possible to get this? I'd like to start bidding today so when you have a chance, can you please reply. Obviously, I really need some guidance here. =) I'll check out the link you posted as well.

Thanks!!

Looking at the amenities of this one they seem to match an earlier booking at here : http://www.betterbidding.com/index.php?showtopic=65026&, which would indicate the MGM Grand.

I'm not 100% on what protocol for posting is. I think as long as destination is same you can post as many in the same topic and then when you eventually book one of the mods/admins will amend the title to the one you booked with the dates and price etc. I would just keep posting in here until you get told otherwise.

Please keep all posts for this stay in this thread. If you ultimately end up using HOTWIRE we'll then move this entire thread to that section of the board.

In regards to the above hotel...

If you go back to HOTWIRE and click the CONTINUE button next to this offering and then click the "See all amenities" link under the icons, do you see more amenities than what you've listed above? NOTE: you will likely need to click the pop-up window with the amenities, the CTRL+A, and copy/paste to a text program such as NOTEPAD or WORDPAD to see them all since HOTWIRE is missing the scrollbars from this window.

Now that you've switched gears to PRICELINE, what is it that you're looking for and what is your maximum budget for this stay?

Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
