Double N Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 Hi! We're traveling with our 6-year-old who insists on a pool next weekend to Chicago. I'd prefer to stay close to Michigan Ave but anywhere in the loop is ok with me.Ideas on the HOTWIRE best bet?
thereuare Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding! What is your maximum budget (per nite before taxes and fees) for this stay? Did you want to book for 2adults/1child or are you comfortable booking for double occupancy? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know the above and we'll take it from there (and i'm sure AaronJB will have some thoughts based upon your answers above too) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
AaronJB Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 The issue with Chicago is that not many hotels actually do have pools, and a few of them are more for fitness (see the Intercontinental.)If I search for 2/1 on HOTWIRE for 3/13-15, I see a 3* in the Mag Mile/Streeterville area with the amenities: Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business. The price I see is $52, you may see a slightly different price. This would appear to be a match for the Hilton Garden Inn Downtown. If so, great hotel and great location (not to mention great price.)Please use the site's HOTWIRE link to start your purchase if you are interested in booking this property.
Double N Posted March 7, 2009 Author Report Posted March 7, 2009 I see something matching that description for $54. I suspect this is it?I don't like booking a double, because I've too often been stuck with one king sized bed--not ideal for a child whopractices soccer kicks all night.I'm just worried I might get the Doubletree. That's not the same match, is it?
Double N Posted March 7, 2009 Author Report Posted March 7, 2009 Thanks for all your help! I've booked the Hilton Garden Inn via HOTWIRE (through your site) for $54.Thanks so much!
AaronJB Posted March 8, 2009 Report Posted March 8, 2009 Thank you for posting your win and for using the site's HOTWIRE link! :) This is a terrific deal, and a great location, as well. There is a subway station out in front of the hotel if you need to take the train anywhere, and there's also a couple of grocery stores nearby (including a Jewel essentially a block away) for cheaper snacks.Michigan Ave. is only a few minutes walk E. There's also plenty of restaurants around the hotel, too.Enjoy your stay. :)
