jreamer15 Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 My daughter and I are going to NYC 5/23-5/26 and noticed on HOTWIRE that we could stay at MTE 4* for $129. I've tried PRICELINE and haven't been successful yet at a max of $125 (using the free rebids) and haven't pulled trigger yet on HOTWIRE but wanted to know if you thought I should. We'll then have to find another place for the 5/23 date. I'm pretty sure that the Hotwire is the Intercontinental based on the amenities noted. It is Memorial Day w'end so I'm scared not to book something. PLEASE HELP!!!

thereuare Posted March 9, 2009 Report Posted March 9, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding! Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread. To SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID or not really depends upon how much you do/don't want to have to change hotels during your stay; some people would do it to save $5/nite... others wouldn't do it to save $50/nite. As well, how much to you want to stay at (what is believed to be) the Inter-Continental as well as what the alternatives are.One option which seems attracitve is the 3.5* HOTWIRE offering in the Chelsea-MSG zone for $119/nite (your price may differ slightly) with: Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, BusinessThe amenities above are a match for what has previously been reported to be the Wyndham Garden Midtown Convention Center (W. 36th St), which if correct, is a fairly new hotel and thus far has gotten very good reviews. May not have the 'cache' as the Inter-Continental Barclay, and is slightly out of the heart of midtown, but as per the reviews guests seem to like it a lot. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know your thoughts and/or how it goes and we'll take it from there. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
