Hotwire Hotel: 3* Biloxi (Biloxi-Ocean Springs) Isle of Capri

I'm looking to stay at the Holiday Inn in Gulfport near the airport. I did a regular search for hotels through Priceline and the Holiday Inn comes up as the only 2.5 star hotel in that area. The price is $119 per night. I'd like to try to bid on it and win it at a cheaper price, but I'm concerned that I may get a different hotel.

My question is....do the ratings on the "regular" Priceline booking engine often correspond with the ratings on the "name your own price" booking engine?

Thanks...

The ratings are the same (i know of once instance where they were not, which was due to a delay in the 'opaque' side being updated from a rating change... a week later the ratings were the same). With this noted, there are no guarantees this will be the case in every scenario, but it's a fairly safe assumption.

However, where your assumptions may not be correct, is that the "retail" side and the "name your own price" use a different universe of hotels, so while this may be the only 2.5* listed on the retail side of things, there may be others on the opaque side. As well, if there are hotels in this zone which are rated higher than 2.5*, you could place a bid for a 2.5* property but be upgraded to a higher rated hotel (the star rating you select is the minimum you are willing to accept)

Just wanted to post that we decided to do a Hotwire deal for a 3 star in Biloxi at $69 per night at the Isle of Capri Casino / Hotel instead. We were planning on staying there on the Saturday (4/4/09) and staying in Gulfport on the Friday (4/3/09), but decided it would be easier to just stay at Isle of Capri both nights and avoid the extra check-in / check-out. I will post my results on the Hotwire forum for Mississippi. I used the link from your site to make the HOTWIRE reservation.

Reserved via HOTWIRE today for 2 nights in early April. Regular price on their website (Isle of Capri) was $149 per night. Most other casino resorts were in that range as well $149+.

Ammenities Include:

Resort

Near Beach

Casino

Fitness Center

Restaurant(s)

Golf Nearby

Spa Services

Total was $159.42 for 2 nights after taxes and fees. I used the BetterBidding.com HOTWIRE link to make the purchase.

Thanks,

Speedy
