Priceline Hotel: 4* (maybe 3.5*) Flexible on area

Hello-

This will be my both my first visit to NYC and my first time using priceline. Thanks for such a great site! All the info here has been extremely helpful. Unfortunately, I have been unsuccessful in getting a 4* or even 3.5* by using the re-bidding strategies described on the site. Am I travelling at a busy time (May 14th through 18th)? For a 4*, I was hoping to pay in the 100-120 range. For a 3.5*, 80-100. In looking at some other wins on the site, I thought these ranges were doable.

My last bid was 123 for a 4* in MTE, MTW, ESB, Times, or CPS with no luck. I am flexible on the area (Times Square would be my last choice, but still okay). It is most imortant to me to get a good price. Any suggestions?? I was thinking that maybe I should just wait it out and keep trying at the prices I was hoping for. Thanks for your help.
