Priceline Hotel: Searching for a good rate

Hi Thereuare,

How do we find out information about a hotel that PRICELINE is offering? For instance, I'm trying to stay at the San Juan Marriott Stellaris Casino & Resort. My friend was able to get a priceline rate of $129/per nt. The hotel is on the list that priceline offers. I just want to make sure I get a good rate and don't get stuck with a different hotel. Can you give me some insight on how I should go about this? If I bid at a lower rate would I get the same hotel?

You can not bid on a specific hotel. If you're going to use PRICELINE you need to be willing to stay at any hotel in the zone at the minimum star level (or higher) that you select.

If you're trying to target, or avoid, a paritcular hotel then HOTWIRE may be a better option as you can often take an educated guess as to the property being offered based upon the amenities shown before your purchase... however, there are no guarantees so still a risk involved.

Thanks for the tips, my friend ended up using the friends and family discount offered directly through Marriott for our stay in Puerto Rico.
