soleglo Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 Currently hotwire has an economy car in FLL for my dates priced at $21.95 which is the cheapest I have seen since I have been watching the rates over the past month. I also used the car rental checker and the cheapest price for an economy car was approx $35/day. Any thoughts on a PL strategy, or should I just book hotwire? I am trying to save as much money as possible. As always thanks for your assistance. :)
thereuare Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 Why not try using PRICELINE to do better than the HOTWIRE rate... nothing to lose :)I'd try a $15 bid and if that is rejeted try again in 24 hours at $18... if that is rejected then take the $21 HOTWIRE offer. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. soleglo Posted March 6, 2009 Author Report Posted March 6, 2009 The $15 bid was accepted by Alamo. (Economy) I believe that is the same company I ended up with in December. The price was much cheaper then, I paid less than $10/day but I guess Spring Break may play a factor in pricing. The PL total was $53 cheaper than the lowest price I found for Alamo and that included discounts. I used the PRICELINE links and again Thanks BB!I am curious if anyone else reserved a economy car with Alamo in FLL in the past and they tried to give them a larger vehicle that burns more gas?? This happened to me in December, they tried to give me a minivan which I flatly refused and finally they found me a toyota corolla. I was going to South Beach, who wants to drive a minivan in South Beach?????????????? :)
